  • Dr. Charles Brockett

    Owner / Veterinarian

    Dr. Chris Brockett was raised in Dolgeville, NY. He obtained his BS and DVM degrees from Cornell University in 1992 and 1995 respectively. In 1995, Dr. Brockett moved to Saratoga and began work as an associate veterinarian at Saratoga Veterinary Hospital. Also in that year, he and Dr. Leisa Brockett were married. In 2002, the Brocketts purchased the business. The practice has expanded to 3 doctors and a staff of 22. Dr. Brockett is very active in both regional and state veterinary societies. He has served the Capital District Veterinary Medical Society as its president, as chair of the legislative committee, and as its representative to the NYS Veterinary Medical Society'€™s Executive Board. He spent 7 years on the Executive Board working with veterinarians ans legislators from around the state on issues relating to the profession before serving as the President of the NYS Veterinary Medical Society in 2014. Locally, Dr. Brockett is a founding member of the Wilton Rotary and served as its President in 2009-2010. In his spare time, he enjoys golf, horse racing, hiking with his wife in the Adirondacks, and watching the Yankees. The Drs. Brockett have 2 children, Megan and Alex, and reside in Gansevoort.

  • Dr. Leisa Brockett

    Owner / Veterinarian

    Dr. Leisa Brockett is a Saratoga native and graduate of Saratoga Springs High School. She began working at SVH in 1989 as a kennel assistant. After obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University in 1992, she attended the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell and earned her DVM in 1996. Upon graduation, she returned to SVH as a veterinarian. She married Dr. Chris Brockett in 1995. They purchased the practice from Dr. Sofarelli in 2001. Dr. Brockett is an active member of the Capital District Veterinary Medical Society and served as the continuing education coordinator for several years. She has served as secretary for the Northway Animal Emergency Clinic, on the board of Katrina Trask Nursery School and on the vestry for Bethesda Episcopal Church. She lives in Gansevoort with her husband and 2 children, Megan and Alex, along with an assortment of 3 and 4 legged family members. In her free time she enjoys reading, hiking in the Adirondacks and playing guitar.

  • Dr. Robert Sofarelli

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Sofarelli is originally from Long Island, NY and attended Walt Whitman High School in Huntington. Upon graduation, he attended Nason College; a small liberal arts school in Southern Maine, and graduated in 1967 with honors in the top 10 of his class with a Bachelor of Science degree. In September of 1967, he entered Cornell University school of veterinary medicine in Ithaca, NY. During his four years at Cornell he received numerous awards and was inducted into the Phi Zeta Honor society for Veterinarians. He was fortunate enough to be accepted for employment at Cornell Small Animal Clinic and worked there for his entire four years at school, gaining immeasurable experience in medicine and surgery. Graduating in 1971 with honors, he then moved to Glens Falls, NY to start his career at the Glens Falls Animal Hospital. In 1973, he and his family moved to Saratoga Springs to build and open the Saratoga Veterinary Hospital. Over the years, Dr. Sofarelli has been involved with many civic and charitable organizations in the Saratoga Area, such as Rotary, Chamber of Commerce, Gloversville Saving and Loan, Wesley, Saratoga Hospital, YMCA and the National Racing Museum to name a few. He is particularly proud of his 43 year membership in Rotary and being President in 1992-1993 and receiving the George Harris Award. In 1984, he was elected President of the CDVMS, our local Veterinary Association, and in 1988 was elected to the NYSVMS executive board, representing the CDVMS. In 1999, he was elected President of the NYSVMS. In his spare time, Dr. Sofarelli enjoys traveling with his wife, horse racing, NASCAR, coin collecting and gardening.

  • Dr. Jennifer Steeves

    Veterinarian

    Born in Nova Scotia, Canada and raised on a hobby farm encouraged her interest for taking care of animals, both big and small.  She completed her Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Education in 1993 and 1994 before going to Atlantic Veterinary College, University of Prince Edward Island, Canada.  After graduation in 1998, she moved to southwestern Vermont and worked as a mixed animal practitioner in Vermont and then New York State.  In 2007, Dr. Jen took on the challenge of corporate small animal veterinary practice, advancing to Partner and Chief of Staff status in 2009.  Dr. Jen left the corporate veterinary hospital in 2011 to practice small animal and exotic veterinary medicine only.  After completing the DVM ultrasound course through Sound Veterinary Ultrasound in Texas in March of 2013, she earned her Advanced Imaging Certificate of Completion.  In the spring of 2014, she also obtained her Certification in Stem Cell Therapy.  She has been an active member of the VVMA since 1998 and CDVMA and NYSVMA since 2001.  She is an Accredited Veterinarian for NY and VT states and is certified for Companion Animal Laser Therapy.  Currently, Dr. Jen’s patients include cats, dogs, pocket pets, reptiles, birds and other non-zoo animals.  Dr. Jen lives in Greenwich, NY on a hobby farm with husband John and daughter Megan with a couple of horses and cats, a dog and a flock of chickens.  Free time is spent gardening, cooking, reading, hiking and farm work.

  • Steven Brewer

    Practice Manager

    Mr. Steven Brewer is our practice manager. He graduated High School from George Stevens Academy in Blue Hill, Maine. He served in the United States Army for 13 years. Mr. Brewer started at Saratoga Veterinary Hospital in 1997. In his free time, Mr. Brewer likes to go fishing, and ride his dirt bike.

  • Lindsey Aird

    Head Technician

    Lindsey graduated with her Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology through Penn Foster along with her Bachelors Degree in Veterinary Services Management through SUNY Canton.  Lindsey lives at home with her husband, two dogs and two cats.  She enjoys kayaking, hiking, and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers win.

    Kate grew up in Saratoga, NY; working with animals from a young age.  In 2014 she graduated from Syracuse University with a B.A. in Sociology.  Kate loves spending time with her fiancé, family, her many pets (4 dogs, 4 cats, 1 hamster and 1 fish), and her friends.  In her free time she enjoys a variety of activities, including paddle-boarding, cycling, skiing, misc. sports, games, and going on road trips.
